Stop your drug abuse!

Drug abuse simply refers to addiction to illicit drugs like for instance, any performance enhancing drug or any psychoactive drug for non-medical factors effect. Some of these drugs consist of alcohol, cocaine, opium, heroin, etc. The usage of such drugs generally leads to criminal liability and penalty and also physical, social and mental damage, or even both. Largely based on the kind of drug, the use of these drugs typically leads to range of problems from death, to psychological and physical dependence, unprotected sex, suicide, accident, violence, etc. The governing bodies are also taking adequate actions to see to it that such a substance abuse does not prevail among people.

There are some factors and causes that related to drug or substance abuse, they are –

·         Biological Factors: There may be several biological or bodily elements associated with drug abuse, they could be, family history, already existing medical or psychological problem, bio-chemical reactions in the body, withdrawal of the body towards craving for these drugs, etc. Here are some of the primary biological causes of drug abuse. Nonetheless most of the factors are psychological and social. Take a look at them.

·         Psychological Factors: Some of the central psychological factors for the causes of drug abuse include curiosity and social rebelliousness. Apart from this there are numerous other added factors for this, which includes, sense of feeling high, low self esteem, lack of organization, poor control, etc also add to this fairly significantly. The other such elements contain, poor anxiety control, the feeling for the want to escape reality, no interest in any objectives and high degree of distress. Also in my opinion, due to some loss in the childhood if any person begins such an abuse in an early age, he or she is prone to higher vulnerability in terms of addiction.

·         Social Factors: Further apart from the psychological factors that contribute to this, there are numerous social elements as well which causes high degree of drug abuse. One of the most fundamental elements in this category is that of peer pressure. Perhaps most of the time such an abuse is initiated in a peer group and thereby becomes an imperative, later unknowingly becomes an addiction. Also causes like emulating role models, effortless availability of these drugs, conflicts, etc also add to this. Lack of family support or even conflicts with the family are other major social factors that affect the condition. The overall social attitude cumulatively forms the main elements of social causes of drug abuse.
